The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to postpone the ongoing board exams scheduled for between March 19 and March 31 in India and abroad in view of global outbreak of Corona-Virus. A notification has been released in this regard.

In the notification released, the CBSE has instructed that, "All ongoing examinations of the board of classes 10 and 12, being held in examination centres in India and abroad, and scheduled between March 19, 2020 to March 31, 2020 (both dates inclusive), shall be rescheduled after March 31, 2020."

Board will announce the rescheduled dates by March 31, 2020, after re-assessment of the situation .

This announcement came after a directive from the MHRD observation that exams are important but safety and security of students and teachers is equally important.

Following the directive from the government, National Testing Agency (NTA) which had scheduled JEE Main exams in April, has also postponed the engineering entrance exam. The JEE Main exams were scheduled on April 5, 7, 9, and 11. The new dates for the exam will now be announced on March 31.
